Vega Leadership Team Attends Camp Conference

Last week was an exciting one for the Camp Vega Leadership Team. Kyle, Emily, Anthony, Sandy and Debbie attended the American Camp Association’s annual Tri-State Camp Conference in Atlantic City. “Tri-State” is the largest conference of it’s kind in America. Vega is dedicated to staying on top of current trends in the industry, and Kyle and Emily were excited to have other Vega leaders attend the event with them this year.

The team members attended numerous sessions on topics such as Staff Training, Camper Activities and Waterfront Safety. Surrounded by 3,000 other motivated camp professionals, the excitement for summer 2015 was ecstatic. Beyond the educational sessions, the Vendor Hall was packed with exciting new products and program offerings… some of which you can expect to see as new additions around camp this summer!

The closing keynote was delivered by former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Being a large proponent of education, specifically girl empowerment, her words on developing citizens through active engagement with people and the world around us rang heavily in our ears. Clinton continued by stressing the importance of giving children the opportunity to “unplug” and connect face to face. Now more than ever is this true, and Vega is proud to provide this opportunity for girls and staff every summer!

Now that spring is upon us and the conference behind us, the Vega team is in overdrive preparing and planning for this summer. Our goal is to provide the best camp experience for all Vega campers and staff. The 2015 summer will be another incredible experience when people come together – from Tamary 2015 to our youngest campers, veteran and new staff – and form the special connections only found at Vega. 94 days and counting!
