Swimming at Vega with Olympian Mary Ellen Clark

It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful or more picturesque waterfront than at Vega!  From our central campus you will see why so many girls love to swim on our waterfront. Whether you are a new swimmer and need a helping hand to even get into the water, or a young advanced swimmer aspiring to swim competitively, it is all here at Vega. And, the fact that Echo Lake is one of the cleanest in the country and the temperature peaks just over 80 degrees makes it all the more welcoming. As a new swimmer you will love our wood-bottom swim cradle where you will have devoted and Red Cross Certified lifeguard instructors who make certain you are safe. If you are already a swimmer, our starting blocks and waveless lanes will help with your progress.

And if you want to be part of competitive swimming, Vega has a long tradition of hosting numerous intercamp swim tournaments as well as attending other camp tournaments throughout the summer.

There’s lots more to get excited about when you come to swim. Our large sandy beach is great for building sand castles, and our dual water slides make you feel like you’re at a water park. If you want the ride of your life, harness up and take a ride down our zip line right into the lake!  It’s a Vega tradition that you will love!
