Every year in mid-October we receive a piece of mail from the Portland Seadogs, which contains a nice letter thanking us for bringing girls from our summer camp to Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. The envelope also contains the calendar for the upcoming Seadogs schedule. This calendar always excites us because it prompts us to open our calendar for the summer and begin planning other events and trips! We’ve got the classics, like Funtown, and Beach Day (special shout out to Tamary ’14 and a perfect TTOD), as well as other exciting events like Olympic Break and trying to fit as many Cookouts as possible!
This year we have been planning and brainstorming on ways of expanding our Tripping program, via Outdoor Adventure. We are hoping to get girls on more nature trips, whether they are day hikes or overnight tent camping excursions. We have also been figuring out ways to expand our community service opportunities for girls at camp. Any thoughts or suggestions – we’d love to hear them!
Lastly, online invitations have been sent out to all 2014 campers and staff for the 2014 Vega Reunion and Video Yearbook Premiere on Sunday, November 9th. Please email us (email@example.com) if you or your parent did not receive an invitation via email. We are planning on quite a crew, and can hardly wait to see many of our 2014 Vega Family!
Enjoy these beautiful Fall days, and keep the warmth of Summer close to heart.
