2021 will be my 6th year at Vega:

Hobbies/favorite activities: Reading, dancing, yoga, my family, hiking, skiing, swimming, listening to the ocean, friends and eating (like Dempsey!). 

What was the hardest part about summer 2020: Uncertainty and not being able to see friends and family 

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: Cooking more! 

What are you most excited for for Vega 2021: Seeing and getting together with our Vega family! 

Brittany Tuber – Junior

Hometown: Brookville, NY

2021 will be my 11th year at Vega. 7 years as a camper and 4th year as a staff member!

Hobbies/favorite activities: Running, yoga, biking, any outdoor activities with my kids and husband!

What was the hardest part about summer 2020: Not having the opportunity to send my kids to camp or really leave the house.

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: We can still have a great summer even if it wasn’t what was planned!

What are you most excited for Vega 2021: To be back at my summer home surrounded by the beauty of Maine! 

Monica Casanova – Sub Super Junior

Hometown: Baeza, Spain / North Bergen, NJ USA

2021 will be my year at Vega: 8th summer (Tamary 2002 & Staff 2006)

Hobbies/favorite activities: Discovering new cities, baking sweet treats, and Pizza & Popcorn Fridays with my kids.

What was the hardest part about summer 2020: Not being able to travel or do many of the fun activities that we had planned to do as a family.

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: While it’s important to live in the moment and appreciate every single day, it’s equally as important to keep working towards your future dreams. With patience, perseverance, and hard work you can get closer and closer to achieving your goals each day!

What are you most excited for for Vega 2021: I’m excited to make new memories with everyone in the Vega family – including my own kids (Emma, 2 and Nico, 7)! It’s always exciting to have new experiences and see just how much everyone grows and learns during the summer.

Talitha Booth – Super Junior

2021 will be my __4th__ year at Vega

 Hobbies/favorite activities: I love to dance, go on walks and go to the gym. I also love to read.

What was the hardest part about summer 2020: I love to travel and it was hard to know that I could not go to the place I love!

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: The simple pleasure of being able to leave the house!

What are you most excited for, for Vega 2021: Seeing how everyone has grown over the time apart and spending time in the best place with the best people!

 

Annie Connolly – Inter Group

4th summer at camp 

Hometown: Salt Lake City Utah 

School: Graduated Spring 2020 from University of Utah

Hobbies- Dance! Also hiking, camping, and martial arts. 

Hardest part of 2020 was not being with my Vega family. 

I learned that even when you are far apart from your loved ones, you can feel close together. 

Thaise Brower- Senior

Hometown: Baltimore, MD

2021 will be my 2nd year at Vega 

Hobbies/favorite activities:  I love to sew, make jewelry and cards to send to friends, and I’ve been getting back into doing aerial silks and flying trapeze. I love watching rugby games and going for long walks with my dog! 

What was the hardest part about summer 2020:  The hardest part about summer 2020 was not being able to see my friends and go on our planned trips/concerts. But we were able to see each other virtually and it was almost as good!

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: I started trying to teach myself how to roller skate! (I also learned that I have very bad balance and am not very good at roller skating!! lol)

What are you most excited for for Vega 2021: I can’t wait to see and hug everybody again! I’ve been away from Vega far too long, I definitely miss my “summer home”!

Kaitlin Donelon- Super Senior

2021 will be my 9th year at Vega

Hobbies/favorite activities: Painting, going to museums, singing alone in my apartment.

What was the hardest part about summer 2020: Not being at my summer home.

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: How to cook more.

What are you most excited for for Vega 2021: Being back in Maine and seeing my Vega family.

Liz Trenk Pruzinsky – Tamary

2021 will be my 14th year at Vega!

Hobbies/Favorite activities: Swimming, hiking, reading, traveling, spending time with my family and friends 

What was the hardest part about summer 2020: Not being able to spend time with our family and friends and the disappointment of not being at Vega. 

Something new that I learned during the pandemic/summer 2020: Time really does fly when you are having fun. We may have had to look harder for the fun in 2020 but it was always there! 

What are you most excited for Vega 2021: I am so excited for all of the campers to be reunited on Echo Lake. I can’t wait to watch Tamary 2020 and Tamary 2021 lead the Vega community as role models for an extraordinary summer and for my daughters to fall even more in love with my second home.
