It is probably the only time we are excited to say: “Moving day is here!”  We are happy to let everyone know we are moving up to camp!  Not everyone knows a nearly “historic” member of the Camp Vega community, Tiger Hewett.  Every year since 1987, Vega’s Onsite Manager Tiger, has assisted the Camp Vega office move.

Tiger has been working year round at camp since 1989.  He does a plethora of behind the scenes camp tasks, from directly supervising and assisting the housekeeping and laundry departments to organizing golf carts and drivers for visiting day.  He has the ability to repair, engineer or build just about anything, while simultaneously making those around him feel welcome and happy with his humor, kindness and and can-do attitude.  He, along with so many other staff and campers, have been working hard to make every aspect of camp this summer the best yet since we said farewell in 2017.

As we welcome new and returning staff over the next couple of weeks and start to put the finishing touches on everything from fresh paint to fresh programs, we will continue to take a page out of Tiger’s book and work tirelessly and selflessly to make the 2018 Vega summer safe, fun, and amazing for everyone at camp.
