Greetings Vegans! We are happy to announce what is going to be produced in the theater this summer. Here are the shows along with descriptions in case you haven’t seen them:
Junior Camp Play: Mulan – Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan takes up arms and disguises as a boy in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the Emperor! Disney’s Mulan Junior is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor, and the fighting spirit. The show allows for a large ensemble of actors playing soldiers, family members, and brides-to-be. The score includes favorites like “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All” and “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” as well as new songs that will get your audience up on its feet!
Inters – Super Seniors: Pippin – Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield and the intrigues of political power. In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day. With an infectiously unforgettable score from the four-time Grammy-winner, three-time Oscar-winner, and musical theatre giant Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Children Of Eden), Pippin has been successfully produced on a wide variety of stages.
Tamary: Bring It On – Campbell is cheer-royalty at Truman High School
and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic – she’s been named captain of the squad! But an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighboring, hard knock Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the dance crew girls and, along with their headstrong and hardworking leader Danielle, manages to form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition – the National Championships.
We can hardly wait to see these productions on the Vega stage!
