This summer Camp Vega is once again participating in the Max Cure Foundation’s Dunk Your Kicks shoe drive. Dunk Your Kicks raises awareness of pediatric cancer and sells donated shoes as affordable footwear in order to prevent infections in the diabetic population, as well as to lower the rise for podoconiosis and Kaposi’s sarcoma. Those shoes and sneakers which cannot be sold are either recycled or donated

So far this summer Vega has collected over 50 pairs of shoes from our campers and their families for donation to this great cause. Boxes have been set up outside of our offices for drop off, and we encourage families to send shoes to their daughter to donate.
