Summer 2020 Weekly Recap #6

Gooooooooood Morning Camp Vega!  It’s Monday morning, which means it’s time for Kyle’s Monday Morning Announcements…the Podcast!  It’s also August, which means that we are that we are one month closer to Summer 2021!  In the meantime, we are staying busy here at Vega and making the best of our pandemic reality. This week we welcomed quite a few visitors (at a safe distance), including staff, alumni, campers and prospective families.  We loved seeing everyone and miss our Vega family more than ever.  If you find yourself in Maine before the end of August, please give us a call and stop by to say hello and even take a dip in beautiful Echo Lake!

One thing we really miss about camp is making friendship bracelets. There is nothing like beading in fine arts or knotting string bracelets during rest period in the bunk and by the lake on a Waterfront Afternoon.  As a virtual calendar event this week, we asked campers and staff to send in pics of their “camp wrists” at home. Emily’s “camp wrist” (pictured above) represents how much the pandemic has affected our lives and the 2020 Camp Vega summer.

This week’s calendar highlight was Vega Secret Sister!  Thank you to all the campers who participated, and to Liz and Michelle for coordinating.  We had so much fun seeing your creative clues and kind responses, and hope you did too!

This week we’re looking forward to Monday Mail, Senior Assembly, Junior Cooking with Kelly, and our second Uniform Day!

We miss you all very, very much! Stay safe and see you next week!!!

With love,

Kyle and Emily
