Video Yearbook World Premiere!

Vega 2021 was special. Some would say it was “like no other” summer in Vega’s 85 year history (here’s looking at you Tamary 2021).

As this year comes to an end, we would like to take a moment to both celebrate the joys and triumphs of last season and look forward to adventures anew in 2022.

We look back at the 2021 summer with an enormous sense of pride for the joyful resilience embraced by Vega campers, staff and their families. Vega demonstrated that it is an enduring haven of fun, friends and adventure capable of withstanding the many pressures and challenges in an ever-changing world.

We are thrilled to announce the Camp Vega Yearbook 2021 is set to premiere on Thursday, December 16th at 7:00pm Eastern/4:00pm Pacific!

Thank to our incredibly talented media team for their tireless filming and editing of the yearbook and all the 2021 Vega videos and photos.

Thank you once again to everyone who was a part of Vega last summer.  We are honored to share a bond with you that cannot be broken.

And sure enough, 2022 is right around the corner. We are so excited to see every new and returning camper and staff and build upon the lessons we’ve learned to create the most extraordinary Vega summer yet. We are counting the days until June when Vega will once again be the haven it has been for generations.

Wishing you, your families, and your communities a fun-filled and safe end of the year and 2022!

With love,
Kyle and Emily

Recapture the warmth of summer & show your Vega spirit

Dear Vega,

As the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler we find ourselves missing Vega more than ever. We miss the warmth of the summer sun on our backs, the warmth of the hugs from campers and counselors, and the warmth of the fire at Sunset Circle.

We are so excited to help you recapture some of that Vega warmth with the last two Weekly Recap Videos from 2021 – Weeks 6 & 7!

Thank you for your patience and thank you to our video editors, Pina and Karla, for their hard work and perseverance. We expect to share the 2021 Video Yearbook soon!!

Lastly, we invite everyone to pull out your favorite Vega gear and represent Vega on International Camp T-Shirt Day, which is Tuesday, November 9th.

  • Please snap a pic of you/your family in a Vega shirt (or hat, sweats, whatever you like!)
  • Share your photo on social media with the tags #campvega #camptshirtday OR
  • Email your photo to michelle@campvega.com and she will share your photo on Vega’s social media. We can hardly wait to see your smiling faces!!

Thank you to everyone who makes Camp Vega possible – all of you! We hope the videos and community camp spirit warm your hearts as much as they do ours.

With love,

Kyle and Emily

Good Luck Green and Good Luck White

Good Luck Green and Good Luck White

This summer’s Vega Olympics have begun!  Last week during Lawn Lunch the local radio station stopped for an advertisement break to wish the Vega campers a fun Olympic season.  The the girls ran to the Landsports fields to partake in a beach party filled with beach balls, sprinklers, and a variety of special frozen treats.  The Tamary generals and co-generals pulled in decked out in their team colors, and Olympics was underway.

Olympic Sunset Circle gave the brass an opportunity to wish their opponents good luck, and speeches reminded everyone of the importance of good sportsmanship.  Every team needs an opponent to compete, and the campers should always practice gratitude, even in the heat of competition!

The first Olympic events on Sunday involved a variety of games, races, and competitions.  Green is off to an early lead.  However, there is plenty to go and all of the campers know…  “It’s Anyone’s Olympics… It’s Everyone’s Olympics!!”
