Vega Coast to Coast

We know how fortunate we are in our lives, from basic needs and a healthy family, to a fulfilling profession and a loving Vega community.  We work hard to appreciate what we have and recognize others in need. Our mission is to live by the Vega Values and traditions to create a fun, safe and inclusive experience where girls develop friendships and skills, and have the opportunity to be their true selves.  Two of our values, Choosing Gratitude and Having Empathy, were prominent in events that took place on and around #GivingTuesday.

On Tuesday, December 3rd, Team Camp Vega took part in Feeding Westchester’s Community Scoop-A-Thon. For the third year, local Vega campers and families took part in this community event to alleviate hunger in Westchester County.  Feeding Westchester distributes food and other resources to towns across Westchester to help ensure that no one goes hungry in the area. We had so much fun working together for a wonderful cause.

Over the weekend of December 7th, our California families organized a giving back event for Baby2Baby, a non-profit that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves.  Our camp parents wrapped donated holiday gifts and the girls made cards for those less fortunate in the LA area and beyond.

We are grateful that so many gave of their time and resources to help others less fortunate, all while reuniting with Vega friends.  The best of both worlds!
