Pre-Camp 2015 Week 1

It is finally June, everything is in full bloom at Vega, and we have enjoyed some beautiful weather along with the rain!  The summer pre-camp crew has been busy with such a wide a variety of projects.  Painting, plumbing, cleaning, mowing, blowing, raking, mopping, unpacking, organizing and more!

In the White House offices we are fully operational and busy fine-tuning this summers program and reviewing everyone’s forms. The Dining Hall is open and we’ve enjoyed a few camp favorites such as Taco Day, Chicken Patties and Kyle treated everyone the first night with cookout on the grill.  The crew also just completed the new summer staff campfire down at Flagstaff and have been enjoying themselves during their time off.  The staff have had some heated ultimate frisbee, soccer, and volleyball matches.

A highlight was our second annual Polarbear Club Anchor Swim, which is an Anchor Swim (a swim from the Vega beach to the peninsula and back) that takes place during the month of May.  The weather was hot last week and Echo Lake was warm for late May.  A fun new pre-camp tradition!
