Staff

Thank you for your interest in working at Camp Vega.  The mission of our staff is to work together as positive leaders to provide a safe, fun and nurturing summer home for every member of the Vega family.

Being a staff member at Vega, located on 320 acres and 2 miles of shoreline on beautiful Echo Lake in Maine, often becomes much more than a summer job; it’s an unforgettable and fun experience set in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine.  In addition to salary, meals, housing and other benefits, it is an extraordinary opportunity to reach your full potential while helping others reach theirs.  Founded in 1936, Camp Vega has helped thousands of girls (ages 7-15) discover the strength, self-esteem and confidence they need to go after their dreams.  The responsibilities staff have at camp will allow you to gain experience in the professional world for nearly every area of collegiate study, from management to food service to equestrian to healthcare.  Perhaps that is why we are able to provide so many paid internships for staff, some of which staff are able to count towards college credits.  While working at a summer camp may not seem like an ideal point on a resume at first glance, the responsibilities staff have are more broad and hands-on than most any other job opportunity that exists for college students.

Most importantly, we want you to have fun and be happy!

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Camp Vega’s staff must be at least 18 years old, positive, and love kids!  No formal professional experience is necessary, just a willingness to immerse yourself in the experience.  80% of our 200+ staff members have already completed at least two years of college.  Because camp can be a fluid and fast paced environment, we are looking for creative and flexible people who can be counted on as “team players”.  You will have the opportunity to lead as well as to follow. Many of our staff are drawn back year after year, and often career goals are clarified after spending time working at Vega.
