Yesterday morning was unlike any other, as the girls were awoken by the sounds of excitement for Olympic Break! Olympic Break signals the start of the Vega Olympics, and is kept a secret until that day. No counselors or campers know when or where Olympic Break will be. This morning’s opening event consisted Olympic scrolls that were brought to each bunk, green and white donuts, lots of green and white beads and ended with the girls finding out what team they are on for the summer. The two teams participate in a wide range of both traditional and novel activities throughout the summer.  Some events involve the waterfront, land sports or singing activities, while others include Vega favorites such as Noodle Hunt and Apache Relay.  All of these fun activities evoke friendly and fun competition and camaraderie throughout the camp.
